The Research and Knowledge Management Office of St. Mary’s University (SMU) has been organizing Annual National Student Research Forums (NSRF) since 2007. The purpose of NSRF is to create opportunities for undergraduate students to present their senior essay research findings and share their experiences with their peers and academic staff, so as to enhance their academic dialogue exposure and experience.
At this 11th NSRF, 16 papers were presented by students who come from different universities including: St. Mary University, Addis Ababa University, University of Gondar and Mekelle University. At the forum students shared how they identified their research problems, the methodologies they have employed, findings they come up with and the research ethics they pursued while conducting their research.
Towards this effect SMU, every year publishes papers presented in the NSRF in proceedings for wider dissemination and use. In doing so, the University recognizes the contributions of students to advance the existing literature and knowledge besides introducing student researchers to various institutions and motivating them to take part in the related activities.
