St Mary’s University has been organizing the Annual Open and Distance Learning Seminar for the last 6 years. The Seminar aimed at promoting innovation, the culture of knowledge transfer among academician, researchers, development agents and practitioners in issues related to open and distance learning. It is believed that the Seminar enables institutions/researchers to develop problem-solving skills through research activities thereby contribute to the overall national development.
St Mary’s University (SMU) has hosted the 7th Open & Distance Learning Seminar on Thursday, 30 August 2018, at SMU Multipurpose Hall. Five research papers, four from SMU and one from Kotebe Metropolitan University, were presented at the seminar.
The papers focused on open and distance learning issues that discussed: Perspective of Distance Learning Students; Staff Training and Development Practices; Effect & Prevention of Cheating in College of Open and Distance Learning Examinations; E- Learning at Open and Distance Higher Education Institutions in Africa; and Challenges and Opportunities.
